This is a freely-accessible, full-text database of Czech poetry of the 19th and early 20th centuries. This resource was created by the Institute of Czech literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences.



Self Description: Myšlenka plnotextové databáze českého písemnictví jakožto nové materiálové základny pro výzkum české literatury za využití moderních médií vznikla v Ústavu pro českou literaturu AV ČR v polovině 90. let. U jejího zrodu stáli Vladimír Macura a Pavel Janoušek. Pro velkou časovou rozlohu a rozmanité druhové a žánrové rozpětí české literatury jsme po dílčích sondách a analýzách materiálu zvolili poezii 19. století.

Czech Literature Portal

Self Description: The multilingual Czech Literature Portal has the purpose of promoting Czech literature abroad. Its principal aims are to make accessible information on i) happenings in Czech literature as these happen, and ii) authors of the younger (and youngest) generation; it also seeks to provide a forum for the forging of international contacts.

It is hoped that scholars and students abroad - and also those whose interest in Czech literature is less academic - will come to view the Portal as an indispensable source. It is not intended that the Portal should take the place of more academic studies. This project was founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

Kramerius Digital Library


One of the national mass digitization programs of the Czech Republic. This program started in 2000 with the goal of preserving acid-paper library materials, especially newspapers, journals and brittle monographs. The library contains currently about 1.3 million pages of digitized material with an annual growth of about 400,000 pages.


Many of the scanned pages are under the copyright protection and thus can be viewed only from the Czech National Library. However, to view the pages that are out of the copyright protection, you would need to install a browser plug-in called "ExpressView Browser Plug-in for Windows".

Spolecna cesko-slovenska digitalni parlamentni knihovna = JOINT CZECH AND SLOVAK DIGITAL PARLIAMENTARY LIBRARY


Self Description: According to the Agreement on cooperation in creation and providing Joint Czech and Slovak Digital Parliamentary Library of Parliament of the Czech Republic and National Council of the Slovak Republic from 3rd June 2002, the Library will contain full texts of parliamentary prints (bills including preambles, resolutions), debates (verbatim reports of all sessions and votings) and other parlamentaria since 1848 until now.
